Concerning the Remington 300 AAC Blackout, which is a better choice - Buying a Remington Model 700 or getting an upper in 300 Blackout for my AR15 223/5.56 Assault Rifle?

There are two ways to look at this:
1) Purchasing the Remington Model 700 Rifle as a separate firearm would eliminate the problem of having the 300 Blackout if something would go wrong with your AR15 or it's stolen. It also would make for a great Hunting Rifle and a extra weapon if needed.
2) Having the 300 Blackout in an upper allows you to interchange your AR15 assault rifle to another caliber fairly quickly. It also gives ease to target shooting at the range since you only need one scope and laser set-up. Also larger quantity magazines would fit the AR15 while the Remington Model 700 Rifle would be limited capacity.
However, in my opinion, I would way in the cost, which points to the Remington Model 700 Rifle purchased separately in 300 AAC Blackout.
Here is some cost comparisons I found:
As you can see the Remington Model 700, 300 AAC Blackout suggested MSRP is $817.31, but in shopping around I found the cost to be:
Remington Model 700, 300 AAC Blackout Rifle is less than the MSRP price.
Cabelas has these for $750.00
Grabagun has them for $546.00
In comparison Brownell's has the 300 Blackout upper for $1,080.00 from Advanced Armament.
You would have to factor in getting a scope for you Remington Model 700 Rifle, but if you live near an area that has Gun Shows, you can pick up a use scope in 3 x 9 for under $50.00, plus a new set of Scope mounts for around $40.00.
Keep in mind the 300 AAC Blackout ammo is expensive and may become hard to obtain.
You can reload your own. I have a friend who just invested in reloading 300 Blackout ammo by cutting down 5.56 empty casing shells. He all ready has a Dillion Reloader so the additional expense for setup was around $250.00.
Good Luck. Choose wisely grasshopper.
