The Sig Sauer Mosquito is a popular 22 Caliber semi auto handgun because it is available in an extended threaded barrel for a silencer and there are several popular silencer companies such as AAC and Gemtech that make suppressors for the Sig Mosquito 22 Caliber Handgun.
If you are planning to purchase one of these I highly recommend the extended barrel.
This firearm can be frustrating and people who own the Mosquito either love them or hate them. Many of these Sig Mosquitos have a tenancy to jam, so take it to a gunsmith and get in chamfered and polish at the barrel feed. I do not recommend you doing this yourself. Also you may want the gunsmith to hone the burs off the magazine head because some of these hangup when loading, and it will also help to prevent jamming.

  1. I would like to thank all the people who have spent time making the Youtube Videos shown here that I have posted. I went through a lot of them and selected a few that fit the Mosquito the best.

  2. The Sig Sauer 22 caliber Mosquito is a handgun plagued with problems. It jams, has magazine feed issues, is difficult to clean. I could not see myself owning one of these. Sig Sauer should be ashamed of itself to put out such a poor quality product.

I own a Sig 226 was very happy with it. I then purchased the Mosquito, what a piece of total useless crap. After fighting with Sig and spending another $200.00 with a gunsmith the damn thing never worked properly so I sold it at a huge loss.

  4. I bought a Sig Mosquito, ordered it with a GemTech Suppressor, fired about 100 CCI rounds and 200 Federal rounds through it so far, no issues. Have not tried any sub-sonic ammo as of yet.

  15. The only purpose to own a weapon like this is to have a suppressor, so if you are not buying a silencer don't waste money on one of these get a nice Ruger SR22.

    1. And, now there is an after market threaded barrel for the SR22 so a suppressor can be added.
