Firearm Forum Question: Winchester Ammo Recall

Ask A Firearms Question:
I heard Winchester (Olin) Ammunition is being recalled in 22 Caliber Long Rifle (LR) is this true?
Thank you Bacon Lover.

Answer:
Blog Administrator -
Yes, this is true. see photo image above.
Winchester is recalling two production Lot numbers of 22 LR sold as M-22, 1,000 Round boxes (bricks) with two separate boxes of 500 each contained within the larger box.
The Lot Numbers being recalled are:
GD42L and GD52L
You have to open the larger box, remove one of the individual 500 round boxes, open the lid and look at the Lot Number to see if you have one on the recall list.
WARNING: Do NOT shoot this ammo or resell it.

Be advised Winchester, I will not 'Repeat, Will NOT ever purchase any ammunition or another firearm from your company'
And, for Google, why the Hell don't you include HOTMAIL as an option for posting, now I have to use Anonymous.

  9. ATTENTION Walmart Shoppers - - - Guess this puts a crimp in you gougers (resellers) and stinking hoarders. I am glad.
As for Winchester they sold off their ammo division to a Liberal group backed by George Soros, but the Winchester reputation deserves to be damaged for selling out to low life Liberals who hope all real honest Firearm Owners get killed, cause they want to take your guns away. Wake up America the commie hoards are at the gates.

  10. Mr. Anonymous,
I have 3 boxes of the M-22, Winchester - 1,000 rounds and mine are all good, but I bought them over a year ago before any problems; and before the increase in cost. I got mine from Wal-Mart.

  12. Dangerous Dan,
Winchester sold off it's Ammunition group including Olin to a Liberal think tank located in California that is believed to be financed by George Soros.

  14. Mr. Anonymous,
Yes Winchester makes Ammo for U.S. and NATO Troops. Olin a division of Winchester Ammunition was a big supplier of shotgun shells in the 60's and 70's for the U.S. Government including the military

  15. WALMART SHOPPERS , YES FINALLY SOMETHING I HOPE WITH DETER THESE USELESS RESELLERS AND HOARDERS.

  16. For the Wal-Mart commenters, I agree. My experience with Wal-Mart shows this company has no loyalty to their customers. They hire the worst store managers ever. These clowns are rude and offensive to shoppers. To summarize Wal-mart sucks and I have stopped shopping there. I have switched to Kroger for groceries and Amazon for most everything else.

  17. neither winchester -or- walmart deserve any business from real americans , screw them both , hope they go belly up real soon !!!!!!!!!!!!

  18. Its pretty frigging disgusting that an icon American company could produce a product that puts law abiding gun owners at risk, not to mention our troops.

  19. Just like what we have come to expect from any American big business to sell out and leave Hunters and Gun Owners with little or no recourse, and to a George Soros World Order ban all firearms from any citizen low life anti-gun nut.

  20. Winchester ->You are like stink on a stick<-

  21. Before everyone gets too carried away it's important to note that both Federal and Remington during 2011 and 2012 had ammo recalls. Remington also has serious problems with some of their Model 700 bolt action rifles. Recalls are normal from every industry. The problem I see is that the news media doesn't give this needed information enough attention so the public can be informed.

  22. Its a LIBERAL group of anti-gun nuts running these companies now , did you really expect a good sound safe product ?

  23. It is obvious to even the Brain Dead that the Liberal Left is making another attempt to destroy our Gun Rights.

  24. at one time winchester was a good ammo but the quality has severely deteriorated and the cost has risen since the parent company sold off it's ammo division including olin.

  25. Why the H-E-L-L this surprises anyone beats me.

  26. What else can one expect from left wing Liberal owned companies that think Veterans and Gun Owners in general are terrorist.

  27. I agree with many of the posters here / why this would surprise anyone boggles the mind /

  28. Here's an update on the Topic Post - My friend George called today, he got his ammo order, now we just have to schedule a time to test shoot it and check out the claims ourselves.

  30. The insanity continues in the AMMO world, with the stinking hoarders and resellers driving up the demand for ammunition.

  31. Winchester, may the putty tat scratch you.

  32. I MOSTLY SHOOT FEDERAL AND THIS IS NO DAMN SURPRISE TO ME SINCE WINCHESTER SOLD OFF ITS AMMO DIVISION.

  33. this is why i stop using 22 caliber now if i cant reload it i dont want it

    ReplyDelete
  34. Now this really sucks a golf ball through a narrow garden hose. Just checked, I have 3,000 rounds of this ammo, fortunately none of mine is on the recall list. The problem as many know 22 Caliber ammo is damn hard to get.

  35. IMPORTANT: Be advised on Firearms and Ammo ReCalls - There is NO expiration date on recalls for various reasons.
If you own or purchased a Firearm or Ammo always check to see if there is a recall on that model or Lot Number.
