Firearm Forum Question: Firing Blanks from Your Assault Rifle

Ask A Firearms Question:
Can I fire blank rounds through a typical U.S. or Soviet made Assault rifle?
Thank you Buckeye Football Fan.

Blog Administrator -
Yes you can fire blanks from most civilian made assault rifles including the AR-15 and AK-47.
If you do not want to load the blanks one at a time, you will need a special device for firing blanks. This device is the same as the U.S. Military uses, see photo below. The device allows blanks to be fired rapidly and ejects the spent round without jamming. It fits over the end of assault rifle. I bought my blank adapter along with 500 rounds of 5.56 ammo blanks from United Nations Ammo in Phoenix, Arizona.
